The awning hold-downs in this site http://www.allsetrv.com/ probably wouldn't apply to my future awning plans (see post #23 here http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1982&page=3 I'd have a rear mounted small awning where the vertical posts' feet are pinned to the back corners of the one-wheel trailer).
However, the owner of Allset RV has the main parts for his hold-downs cast at the little foundry where I work, so I thought it might help him to spread the word about his products by mentioning it here. The basic objective is to detach the awning legs from the camper, where they are otherwise in the way when you walk out under the awning on either side. I suppose you could duct tape the legs to big rocks hauled in from around your campsite, or pin them to your own home-fabricated iron weights, but this product is arguably a more elegant solution.
