Double cab, diesel, SA.... I want it:drool: !

Know it can't be registered and the shipping from Japan would be costly but I love those early double cab Hiluxs. If it were 2015 (25 year rule) I would be looking to import this truck. I've always loved the bed tie downs. I wonder why the early Tacomas never came in a double cab. Not enough interest in the small truck market back then with the low fuel prices?

I know they are nice, but 2LT/2LTE engine is pobably the worst ever made by Toyota. Tons of heads cracking, the cooling system is weak. They share this engine with the Landcruiser Prado and Hilux Surf (4 Runner).

the 4 door hiluxs had the 3L in them non turbo with improved head. very dependable motor

You are correct. I made a mistake thinking the Hilux and the Surf were spec'd with the same. Thanks for pointing that out, it is the 3L.
