Nikson's '01 XJ Build

i have to say that i appreciate the milage on the diesel JK. here in europe the xj would be so expensive, i would be broke already :-)))

Yeah... its too bad that politics in US keep diesels away from Jeep... It wierd, but go figure...

Good thing that we dont pay tax on the size of our engine... :)

sorry to hear, but you may end up liking the newer cars better!

Well, in my case its not matter of choice really... I just have to, in order to complete my trip next year.

If all goes well and it really is what lots of people say, I might stick with JKs, but XJ is definitely on my FAVORITES list...

It isn't so much politics as it is profits. Their wallets get thicker with lousy gas mileage unleaded engines than with good mileage diesel engines. I wish there were such thing as a diesel-electric hybrid car in the US, not sure if it exists in other countries or not.

Thats the thing... lots of diesel engines are more efficient then even latest hybrids ones... not even to mind the cost of diesel being a bit higher... I would still take a diesel over gas engine any day (if there was a choice)
