Nimbus' m416 Build

This is what I started with....a sore sight for eyes. Overall, the trailer was in fairly decent shape though. The back was dented in but I knew I wanted to build a tailgate. There was a lot of rust but for about a $100 I was able to get it sandblasted.

I love looking at this picture to remind me of where I started. I still have a ways to go with the build but thought I'd start my thread. Thanks to all of those that have posted their own builds. They have been a great to watch!

Cheers!

I swapped out and flipped the axle with a 3500lb axle. I also put on new hubs that matched the bolt pattern of my Xterra.

I painted the tub and the frame and bolted them back together. I framed out the tailgate and used some diamond plate for the surface area.

I had a local boat dealer make a canvas cover for the trailer. I used the existing tie down loops with webbing and buckles to secure it. This does give me a little flexibility to fill it above the height of the sides.

Very clean! What are you going to do about lights? Looks a little high, but I don't know if there's any way to alter that with the spring over.

Thanks for the compliment.

I plan to add some oval LED tail lights to the back with some markers on the sides.

In regards to the height, I can adjust it on the hitch to level it out. I didn't have anything loaded in the trailer when I took that picture so I wanted to wait to see how much it would flatten out when loaded.

SoCal-
I've been a big fan of the build of your trailer. After looking at your tailgate, that is how I decided on the direction to go with mine. As you stated, I am just getting started but I am glad it is almost functional so that I can start to get some use out of it while I continue my build. Thanks for the kind words.
