NITRO CHROMOLY Birfields & Axles - Now available for Toyota applications through Iron Pig Off Road!

Toyota Trucks & Landcruisers are well known for their strength & reliability all over the world. Out of the box they feature a pretty great drivetrain, but they do have their limits. The factory axles are 30 spline at the diff, but neck down to 27 spline at the birfield creating a failure point. Additionally the factory Birfield joints are not built to withstand the added stress of larger tires and heavy offroad use.Nitro Gear & Axle has addressed this by offering a range of Heavy Duty Chromoly Birfield Joints & Axle Shafts.

How will these hold up to DD use? Faster wearing like the longfields?

I just spoke with our rep and the 80 series (if not converted to part time 4x4) are the same as the Longfields as far as wear. The warranty covers breakage, not wear - but that said, he says if its a second vehicle it wouldnt likely be a problem, but if its a main driver that gets 20K per year they wouldnt be recommended. Good grease and maintenance would be the key to prolonging their life in a driver. On other applications with part time and manual locking hubs it isnt an issue. Hope that helps.
