Nitro Gear and Axle tube chassis buggy

A few years ago Jeremy from Nitro Gear and Axle decided that he wanted a purpose built tube chassis rig to explore some of the more difficult trails around the country. He started talking with some builders and ended up with a DC Custom Fabrication chassis:

Black ZJ,
I'm sorry that you are not interested in the project or feel it is not suited to this section. However we had this at NW Overland Rally last year and it received loads of interest and questions. We even had many people ask why they had not seen it on Portal. Jeremy also drove it on the "trail" day to the same place as all the overland equipped vehicles. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but it is somewhat relevant.

It's neither a Jeep or Expo, I'm trying to figure out why this is posted in here....

It's a nice vehicle for sure. If I can put 2300+ miles on my little flat fender on a two week trip than using a buggy to do the same thing is more than possible.

If you are putting a lot of miles on this thing, I would be very interested in hearing how the full hydraulic steering is working out? There has been a lot of improvements in the last few years, but I have seen a pretty large push to get back to being able to use a true steering box from some of the KOH or Ultra4 type vehicles.

On another note. A TON of tech came out of the tube frame vehicle crowd during the early 2000s that was applied to a lot of the go-faster stuff we are seeing on more full bodied vehicles. Technology flows backwards as well as forwards through the different branches of this sport. Don't discount its value here just because its a tube car.

Totally cool, I could see a hardcase maggiolina bolted up top, remove the back seat, throw a cooler, some recovery gear and abag for clothes and off you go for a weekend out in the dessert!

Scratch that, maybe the recovery gear can be left at home and bring some beer and whiskey to relax at night!

I go on muliti day trip with buggies every year. Two of them actually have roof top tents. Just sayin...
