Northstar - TC650 lights not working

My running lights (yellow and red lights along the roof) are not working. Well 2 of them are, the 2 red ones on the rear of the driver side, but everything else is out. Anyone else deal with a problem like this? I checked the fuses in the camper as well as the connection to my truck, and everything seems fine. All the other electric in the camper is working. I'm thinking I might have a loose wire???

Thank you for any suggestions.

I had the same thing happen on my northstar, after doing the normal checks and
not finding anything i looked at the wiring going into the roof area
had power at the spot it entered the roof, but still no power at lights.
seeing how much trouble it would be to access the wire in roof i just decided to
live with no clearance lights.
do not know laws in regards to clearance lights.

sounds like you have a open circuit.

let us know if you find the problem.

sold our northstar, being replace with 2016 full size ford transit :sombrero:

I swapped mine out for LED's and found a couple of open circuits. A water pump and a LPG gauge are all that's broken in 16 yrs,33 Baja trips and numerous US voyages. A multimeter will pinpoint the issue.

Lights Out...

TC-650 (2009) Somewhat familiar with your lighting issue. I was upgrading to LED bulbs and found the polarity is reversed and won't work. Yes, the current wiring puts 12 volts on the side of the bulbs versus the base terminals; does not matter for incandescent bulbs. I will locate a point that I can switch this if possible and update. My wiring terminates in the back of the power cabinet and was hidden behind the water heater which has now been removed and replaced with an RO Drinking Water System. Additional mid-side tail/stop/turn lights are my next project. Interested in finding out how you get into the wiring behind the canvas.?.?

Lighting Issues

Just reread your comments on lighting. In your case, check for good continuity where the bulb 'locks' into the holder. The stock light housings are poor for keeping the bulbs in solid contact. I had to remove some bulbs and 'squeeze' the terminals together and then carefully reinsert the bulb. Make sure the bulb is in the 2-detents squarely and touching the base. Corrosion (poor continuity) is 95% of electrical problems. Since these are ALL clearance lights, they are on one circuit fuse. As indicated by another reviewer, a VOM is great troubleshooting tool for the job!

i second the likely culprit being the bulb/terminal connection. I am constantly readjusting my bulbs to get them to work (honestly, i stopped caring much and now find myself only fixing it occasionally)

Thanks for the suggestions - I had a few loose bulbs and an open circuit. Everything seems good now, but I could see these bulbs falling out very easily again - especially on a forest road.
