First I would like to say thank you for a fantastic site and forum!
Many things here to learn and dream about!
I will share some pics from a trip I made this summer from Trondheim to Bergen, Norway.
My WIfe is not from Norway, as I am, and she has only been here this winter!so I thought to show her some of the nice parts of my country.
Our ride was my 93 Toyota Hilux, 2,4L diesel, whopping 82 hp. quite original only extra is 3 Hella 3000 lights.
I have some plans for the vehicle, maybe for another thread!
Anyway, western part of Norway is known for its Fjords and mountains.
One goal for this trip was to get to the Highest in Norway Galdhøpiggen. which is 2469 meter or 8100 feet.
Anyway first stop Otta valley, nice camping site with natural pool.
Some of the river feeding the pool
Next Strynefjellet, all tarmac we såw some reindeer with calves
After this rather frigid landscpe we went trough 3 tunnels and ended up with this view out to Stryn
Halfway down to the vally floor, this river gorge cut through the road
Nice farm-land before we go up to Brikdals-glacier
Famous waterfall
Briksdals glacier, which is an "arm" of Jostedalsglacier northern europes largest glacier, this one is quite small now, but according to the local ranger, it is quite big on the top, so in a few years it will be down to the lake again.
No cars allowed, we had to walk, its about one hour walk, easy pace.
