NOT another build thread.....

....mostly because this is my daily driver, and secondly I don't believe that bolting on parts constitutes "building" something. Here is a driveway poser pic as I get ready for Acadia NP this weekend...
DSCN0051.jpg

I'm getting ready for a month long trip through the great American West and thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully pick up on some of your collective experiences and wisdom. My truck is pretty basic, it's an 07 Toyota Tacoma DC TRD OR with the 6 speed manual trans. Mods are basic and are as follows...

265/75R16 BFG AT on ATX Chambers
Toyota TSB rear leafs
grom audio iPhone kit
Garmin Nuvi 200
Garmin 60Cx
"always hot" power outlets
Thule Roof rack system
Autohome Maggiolina Extreme
waeco coolmatic cf-35 (with low voltage cutoff)
Undercover lockable tonneau cover

Aside from these things, I will be installing bilstein 5100's in the front for some much needed ground clearance and to level the truck with the TSB springs at the rear. I'm going to try to go without skidplates/sliders as I'm trying to keep the weight to a minimum and either use good judgement/driving skills or simply find a different route on my travels.

Hopefully these things will be enough as I plan to visit family in Crested Butte and Aspen, CO then move on to Utah, CA, NV, and NM before flatfooting it home. My routes will consist of lesser traveled paths and I'll always have at least one companion for rock stacking detail! Maybe this is a foolish plan, but in past travels a "light and fast" approach has served me well.

I'm curious to hear what you think and thanks in advance!

Looks nice! You've definitely got the 'everything you need, nothing you don't' mindset down. One thing you might want to consider adding is some basic recovery gear. If you're alone (i.e. the only vehicle) a strap won't do you much good, but a decent jack and a shovel would probably be nice, and maybe a tire plug kit in case you tear up two tires at the same time.

I agree that some basic recovery & first aid gear should be included.
Extreme Outback makes the best tire repair kit I have seen or used. It is good enough that quite a few retailers like Adventure Trailers sell it also.

If you don't already have one look at getting Spot Messenger and maybe posting up if some of us members in various states you will be in would be willing to give our info (I would) that way even if I can't come to your rescue I could post up to Expo for ya.

Adventure Medical Kits has some quality first aid kits, watch Steep and Cheap for good deals as they pop up there from time to time.

I would maybe add some poles and a tarp for shade. Out here in the desert southwest we just don't have much in the way of shade so bringing your own can really make a trailside lunch stop bearable.

Post lots of pics and enjoy the trip.

Thanks for the input! I have two first aid kits, a personal kit and a Genuine Land Rover First aid kit. I also have an ARB tire repair kit, a land rover (warn) recovery kit and I'll be carrying a hand winch capable of a 4k pound pull.

I think I'll be all set, gonna be tough to use a hi-lift jack without sliders though....
