off road lamp covers!

Hi all:

I have 2 Lightforce 240XGTs and 4 IPF 868s on my light bar. By law I have to have them covered on the highway. Taking the covers on and off - especially the centrally mounted XGTs that then have to be refitted with the appropriate filters is a PITA.

What I am planning to do is make some washable, lightweight, fabric covers that fit tight, look good and are opaque. I'm also thinking of connecting them all togther with a single string/wire with quick-disconnects at each end of teh bar. This will allow me to very quickly pull the covers off, maybe even just tuck them under the bar in-situ.

I'll post pics if I ever get around to this.

Hella supply clear covers for their lights.
I'm procrastinating about getting some. We are only allowed one set of spots. Anything extra needs to be covered while onroad so clear covers are a brainwave

For you LF lights and others that have a filter cover, you can use a painted piece of cardboard or thin plastic. Cut it to a size that it fits between the light and the cover. The cover holds it in and as long as it's opaque it's legit.

I like your idea of one string pulling them off.:26_7_2:

When I was in high school we always used carefully sized Frisbee's and a short piece of Duct Tape.
