Hard to tell what it is though... is there a website where we can see a finished built version to see what we are buying?

Here's some pics of 2002 Fargo trailers from my archives. This will help you visualize what the finished product looks like. Note that one of them has a family tent deployed. The tent is being offered separately. it fits nicely on the Fargo or could fit a Chaser. Martyn has more details

Sold the trailer today to one of our fellow "Portal People". It's now got a new home and it's in the hands of someone who can restore it to it's former glory.

was the family tent sold as well? if not how much for that?

No we didn't sell the family tent with the trailer.

It's still in it's original wrapping, never used. It was made by a company in Cape Town called Cristy Sports http://www.cristys.co.za/trailortents2.htm right now the same tent would be $2700.00 in Cape Town, without shipping and handling, customs clearance, bond, import duty, etc.

It needs to go on a trailer with a 5.5 ft to 6.0 ft long bed as the queen size bed goes lengthways down the trailer. On anything shorter you'd have to have outriggers for support.

I spent 6 weeks camping with my family in a tent just like this one. Once the thing is set up it's fantastic. Makes a great base camp.

It's for sale for $2500.00 FOB Truckee CA. I think this is a reasonable price. A 2200 RTT would set you back $2200.00 and that doesn't have a living area or two 12 X 6 awnings.

martyn would this tent fit a chaser model with no overhang? thanks

The tent is 7 feet long, and the queen size bed runs length wise along the main box. So it would be fit on the longer box of the Chaser.

There would be an over hang of 1.0 ft which you could spilt 0.5 ft at the rear and 0.5 at the front. The tent does have it's own aluminum sub frame so it would work.

There is a limit to how high the mounting platform can be due to the length of the ground portion of the tent. I can't remember what that is and I haven't unpacked it to find out yet.
