So I recently discovered my Nikon 80-200 2.8 AF-S lens will no longer auto focus. I found out that this is an intermittent problem with these lenses. It is what it is.
Now the question is: Do I fix it? Fix it and sell it? Sell it as is and get the newer 70-200?
Waiting on getting a quote back. I think if its in the $300 range, I should just get it fixed. Not really using the lens all that much anymore but when I need a telezoom, its awesome. Coupled with my 17-35, its my favorite old school setup.
Anyway, just kinda venting. Not really seeing the price of 70-200 lenses coming down which sucks. On the flipside the 80-200 AF-S units have been maintaining price which is cool.
Such is life.
