Oh sweet jesus I just bought a Clydesdale.

The van, naturally, not the horse.

So, for the princley sum of $4,600 Canadian, I am now the proud owner of a 2005 Ford E350 SWB Clydesdale 4x4 conversion. Mint interior, rust-free body, brand new Goodyear Wrangler MTRs, just needs a fluid flush and some fresh gas since it's been sitting for a few years.

I'm still reeling for getting it for a song and a dance. Believe me, I tore the beast apart looking for anything wrong with it, but couldn't find it-the owner was saying he was selling it because he just knew he wasn't going to have the time or money to turn it into what it wanted (Which involves 37"s and a 5.9L Cummins), so he just wanted to get rid of it. Even came with a bullbar and a 12,000-pound winch (Not installed, but still)

Pictures will be forthcoming this weekend, since I can't get a picture in the daylight right now (Light being in very short supply up here at the moment).

5.4L Triton. I'd have preferred a 7.3L Powerstroke, but definitely not disappointed with it, especially since I'm accustomed to driving E250s with the 4.6L for work every day.

sounds like a great find. Rust issues? I agree with Shocker...we need pictures.

Not a spot. Shocking, really. Body and frame are both in great shape, better than most 9-year-old vehicles. But AFAIK, it spent the first 5 years with an outfitter in northern BC, then another 4 sitting in a driveway here in the Yukon, so it's never seen salt and precious little winter driving.

I'll get pictures picking it up after work tonight. Can't wait to start tearing into it, it's better than Xmas!

Please excuse the potato quality, all I have access to is a beat-up smartphone for the moment. I'll get REAL pictures when I borrow my parent's shop for a few days to tune her up.

She's not perfect-it's running EXTREMELY rich, so rich to the point that it can barely take off from a start (And nearly gasses you out of the cab when you stop...), and the 4WD is really stiff to engage, but both of those I'm attributing to it having sat for the past four years-hopefully nothing that some basic maintenance and grease can't fix.

Next plan is a roof basket and some interior storage-I'm stealing a page from a build I saw on here and hanging mesh over the back windows to secure stuff to (Not that I'm worried about theft or anything, it's just such a handy way to store things!)

Yeah, a kit from Clydesdale would be fantastic. I crawled around underneath tonight to check her out, and the workmanship looks top-notch. I DID find out that it's actually an IFS conversion, not a solid axled one like I expected (That's the problem with buying a vehicle in the dark...), but I'm not too put-out about it-I'm not planning on doing any extreme off-roading with it anyways (That's what my Jeep is for), and I wouldn't mind the nicer ride on long trips.

Also found out that the 4WD engaging problems are because I'm an idiot-I didn't realize that you needed to be in neutral to engage 4LO. So, fresh fluids and filters and she should be golden.
