Oil check/level switch

Before I start taking things apart...

My 2004 fuso has a switch in the cab to check oil level. Switch it on with the engine off and it glows either green or red indicating oil level. Mine shows neither color but I can hear a relay clicking when the switch is activated. Anyone have similar issue ever? Thx

mine doesn't click any more, since some wiring melted .....

when I get to fixing the wiring IIRC the oil level sensor is on its own diagram in the manual.

my switch on the dash plays up a bit, but usually when the relay "clicks" the light comes on
check the plug on the side of the engine, you should be able to work out which plug by tracing the wires from just above the sump

Gosh, mine has a dipstick. I feel so old fashoned.
