You might be familiar with my "not-quite-happy-w/-DSLR-want-P&S" plight that I've been suffering from for... nearly a year now. Well, I'm almost ready to bite the bullet on a G9, to supplement my XTi.
I haven't pulled the trigger because we're recovering financially from two job transitions, and haven't quite established a comfortable paycheck rhythm yet. Basically, I can do it - but I shouldn't.
The thing is, my XTi and equipment, if I sold it, could easily fund a G9 (or G10 lol) and accessories such as an underwater housing and Lightroom. I'm tempted to think I'd use the G9 more than the XTi, and that the XTi would fall by the wayside, in which case I'd sell my XTi and lenses without hesitation.
However, I don't want to sell it preemptively and then regret it. On the other hand, I feel guilty about spending money on an additional camera.
I love photography, but I primarily shoot stuff and places. I don't make an effort to be artistic, just look for good IQ. Since I've been kayaking, I take my wife's SD630 which I enjoy using.
Since I tend to make hasty buying/selling decisions, and am generally a basket-case, if you guys could recommend a course of action, that'd rock! :wings:
