I posted my full trip report over at Toyota 4Runner.org and have been a lurker over here for a long time and finally decided to start posting. We did our overland trip from Sunday, June 19th through Friday, June 24th. Overall the trail was fairly clean and we did some maintenance on it also. Ran into two issues along our route I wanted to post for others encase they wanted to do this adventure. First - over the top of Three Lakes starts out at about 6200 feet and is also near Diamond Lake to the West of it. Weird because no tree's near the road and snow was deep and ALL over. Thankfully we had a winch and my dad's rig is built for Extreme Rock crawling or it could have been a few nights and days to get through. The second issue is when you go from Cascade Lake HWY to Tumalo Falls they are doing some massive logging and closure of any road that a 'vehicle' is on was closed. We tried everything and no avail unfortunately. Had to backtrack and do roads through BEND. It was even closed over by Todd Lake (supposedly due to snow....). I'm hoping to post more of my adventures and read learn what everyone else is doing here =)
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
