Our Day trip to the Middle of Tasmania

Our day trip out.

Here we went to the middle of Tasmania to an old town called Ross, Ross and its buildings date back to the Convict days of the late 1800`s.
My youngest Daughter Jess and our Best friend Dave came along for the trip, all the other Kids were at work as it was a weekday.
Dave is a teriffic Bloke and shared the driving with me so we could both take photo`s and rest, as they say Weary drivers die.

So the car was packed at 0900 and all fluids and Tyres were checked. The esky was packed with cold drinks and snacks, so we were off at 10 as soon as Dave arrived.
On this particular trip we all decided to take the 2004 Holden COmmodore stationwagon and leave Daves Terano4x4 and my HJ60 at home as all the roads we were to travel were sealed.

After a very pleasant 2 hour drive we arrived at Ross, 1st stop was one of the local Cafe`s for some home made food.
Dave & Tim chose there delicious home made Cornish pasties and Jess went for one of the peppered Steak pies and for desert she chose a Custard Pie. :)
To say to food was great does not give it justice. It was super fantastic:)

Whilst we were there we walked around the town Looking and reading it`s history.

It is so sad to learn that the British sent people from England to Tasmania for crimes such as stealing a loaf of bread. Once here the convicts could earn privilages and eventually become free. Usually being granted land to farm. I have attached some photographs to enhance this story.
