our new family van/tow rig

Guys,

I am a landcruiser guy but the advantages of a van for a larger family are great. First i would like to thank Derek at Colorado vans, Michael at Mg and Chris at ujoint for the advise todate. We found a clean 02 7.3 quigely used as a wheel chair van. I am in the process of getting it base lined and interior remodeled. The van had a good hot and ground at the rear of the van that ran the lift. Since i removed the lift, my plan is to use it and install a fuse box and inverter. What are your recommendations for an aux fuse box and inverter?

Great base rig! I'm sure this goes without saying, but make sure that the existing wires are sized adequately for whatever size inverter and/or accessories you're planning on running.

Power locks

I found a set of power doors at a junk yard, if you have a manual truck does the wiring harness have the plugs for the power windows and door locks, also is it hard to add the second alternator

work done

fuel bowl fixed
interior stripped
front axle serviced
new radiator and all needed hoses
new mich 265/75/16 ltx at2
converted from manual to power locks and windows. BTW the junk yard find had bad interior door panels so if anyone has a gray set they would part with let me know.

Up next new interior.

I have never owned a diesel, are there any 7.3 owners that wish they had the V10?

How hard was it to swap in the doors with the power windows?

My 7.3 is all manual too.

Thinking about putting in the OEM cruise control too.

The rear and side doors are easy there is only one riveted bracket that holds the motor. I just cut a small area out of the donor and welded into my doors. I had planned to do the front doors the same way but they have about 6 of those per door. So I could either cut the entire interior skin out and weld it back in or just find a good pair of doors at a junk yard. I am on the search for a good pair of doors. My main harness was set up to go either way so I just had to source the door harnesses. I have a extra interior harness that came with the doors minus the door harness if u need

Ooh, thanks, I'll have to let you know when I figure out what I'm doing.

Once we stop getting slammed with snow every week here I plan to spend a little more time getting the van in shape and maybe start a build thread.

I was cleaning up the wiring and looking for the 7 pin adaptor harness. Currently it has a 4 pin which plugs in over the drivers side rear axle. There is a split in the harness and it goes to the rear third member. Does this control the limited slip or what is it for?
