After several offroading mishaps, usually involving deep mud and/or water, I have decided to change the direction of my Tacoma build from offroading toy to overland expedition all-terrain vehicle. Here is what I have done and what I plan on doing.

all looks great, except those spacers, what's the logic? expedition rigs need to be somewhat narrow and tucked in to clear things...
 

4Rescue

Just a suggestion, but going with a snorkel means that a CAI isn't worth keeping/re-doing (I'd debate whether they're really an actual overall performance enhancer in general after many years of building street/track performance cars etc. but that's another thread). You could easily make your own intake out of an old stock unit or two to hook to the snorkel. Do the snorkel and worry more about truly waterproofing the electrics if water is of the kind of concern you're talking (you're in Florida so I can only imagine the swamp holes you run across).

Love that "over the Cab" bar-work. Were it me I'd add some horizontal bars in line with the cab going back from those angled "roll hoop" sections (like a typical "work truck"/ladder rack almost) to give yourself kind of a canopy frame and have a canvas top made up maybe. Or even a rack to put an RTT on top of it and still have the full bed space available and protected by the bars. Looks like the foundation is certainly solid. Enjoy your explorations.
