Overland/Recovery 2022 Platinum FX4 F-450 $145k!

Another picture. Made sure to keep the wiring very clean. You can’t hardly tell anything has been done.

One hell of a rig, have a whipple raptor r and miss my prospector xl, this would be a step up from the prospector!
I checked out the new Prospector XL and priced it out with comparable options—minus the things the Prospector doesn’t offer (ARB locker, dual compressor, swing-out rear bumper, MOLLE gear, rear aux tank, toolbox, etc.).

Just the upgrade components alone came out to nearly $44k. That’s actually not a bad deal—but you’d still need additional work to add those missing pieces. Once you factor in the cost of a brand-new, fully loaded 3500 plus the remaining add-ons, you’re well past the price of this truck—and you still don’t get the F-450 platform, which for some of us is a major advantage. The 450 isn’t small, but that’s kind of the point.

As a complete, well-thought-out package, the Prospector really is top-notch. My own build philosophy came from the same place. I didn’t want a truck lifted to the sky. Suspension lift is kept minimal—about 2.5” taller than a stock Tremor—which keeps the truck usable and stable. You also get the Dana Super 60, and the tighter turning radius is a noticeable benefit, especially for something this size.

If someone wants access to a truly purpose-built truck, this is it. You avoid the astronomical pricing of Elevation Off-Grid builds, and you get a true F-450 instead of a cab-and-chassis truck with a de-rated 6.7L.

Long post, but for anyone seriously in the market: you can’t buy and build this same truck for under $155k.

These trucks are an absolute blast. I’ll build another one someday.

Appreciate the interest!

Would consider trading my whipple raptor r and some cash. Raptor r with whipple innov8 wheels, milltek cat back, amp steps, billet upper control arms and front and rear bumpers…. Should bring 135-140 to the right buyer.

Another update… I had interior touch points ceramic coated. The platinum has dark walnut, piano black and chrome accents throughout the cabin. I just had those ceramic coated so that there aren’t any scratches or swirl marks.

Even the seats have never been directly sat on. There are seat covers, so the seats look brand new.

I frequently have it professionally cleaned with the proper ceramic follow on treatment… I just took it to the shop that did the ceramic so they could evaluate the performance of the coating… Still looks and works great.
