Hi, wondering what your thoughts are on these 2 tents. Neither are available within 300 miles of me.
From my research, it seems like the RX is built with a stronger, more flame retardant material. It also comes with the rain fly and has a sunroof.
The "front room" walls are one piece, not 3 pieces like the RV's walls. It's all or nothing when using them... you can't put up just one side wall for privacy or as a wind block. Also, the RX's walls don't extend to the ground. They stop so the PVC fabric bathtub floor can zip to the bottom of them creating a sealed room. It also has 2 more poles & a cross pole for the awning/front room.
Comparing similar features (tent & rainfly) the RV-5 ($849 + $120) is $65 less than the RX-5 ($1034) with the current sale at FTC.
I'd like to be able to put one front wall up, vs the entire room, but I guess I could use a tarp in those instances. My wife likes the sunroof!
Have any of you had an opportunity to compare the two? What are your thoughts?
