Palomino SS500

Me and my wife Are looking into a slide in camper for my 08 tacoma DCLB.

I’ve been looking online and we would ideally like something newer but not FWC price range, especially with the exchange rate we are looking at 30k+ for one.

I’m going to try head out next weekend check some out at local rv dealers but Ive been eying up the Palomino SS500.

Big selling point is the 6 foot floor length. The plan would be to use it in the tacoma for going to Alaska and hopefully panama in the next few years.

There’s a few 2018 models available somewhat locally for around 14k new which is enticing.

Does anyone have any experience with this brand? Will it hold up to mild offroad use? For actual wheeling I have my roof tent and rack that I would swap on.

My other question would be what have you done to beef up rear suspension to handle these? Already i need to replace my rear springs as it is. Was thinking of have a set of springs made for the truck and adding airbags to the rear.

Thanks
Scott
