Anyone here have the smaller folding 2 burner Partner Steel stove? Can tyou give me review?

http://www.partnersteel.com/?detail_page&record=stove2b9

It's time for me to stop using my backpacking stove for camping and I want a stove that will last. I like the Partner stuff but it's expensive. The folding stove is the cheapest and I like the folded size. I can make my own wind screen.

Also is anyone with a partner stove using it off 1lb disposable fuel bottles? Does it work ok with those? Do I need a PArtner adapter or will any adapter work?

Thanks,

dave

I have the regular 2 burner and I can confirm you can use it with 1lb. you just need an adapter. I have the Mr. Heater Steak Saver adapter.

Chiming in late here...

I have both the folding and the 2 burner side by side. I think the side by side 2 burner is cheaper than the folder version (right at 200 for the side by side)...

I had a local propane shop make an adapter...it was 10 dollars. I rarely use the larger tank I have.

Why not just get a Coleman that runs off the 1 lb bottles?
Save yourself time and money...

I actually intend to use the Cook Partner with a small refillable tank but I wanted to be sure the burners would at least work ok with the smaller bottles (Camp Chef for instance does not).

It's an expensive stove but I love the clean design, minimal parts to loose or break, very easy to clean and more or less bomb proof.

Because the folding 2 burner uses a two hose coupler I think I'm going to go for a 2 burner with windscreen. I'm hoping to get a little $$ for my birthday in July and thats probably when I'll drop that hammer.

The lack of a windscreen is what would steer me away from that stove.

that and if the point of the Cook Partner is in its simplicity than why buy the one with a two hose set up and a harder to clean interior (due to each half being separate). I also noticed that the hoses exit the front of the stove instead of the side which look like it would get in the way.

I think you made the right choice going with the 2-burner/ windscreen model. It will outlast you. Also, you can get the 1lb adapter from Bill at Partner Steel, or just order it at the same time you order your stove. If you get your stove from AT I'm sure they can get order it for you at the same time.
