Passed Tech test today

Right on......looks like you did really well!

Congrads mate!

Looks like an easy test from your score!

:)

Hello Jerry,
Awesome, Great Job and even better timing. Looking forward to talking with you on the Death Valley Run. If you are crunched on time and money for the new radio. I just bought a Yaesu VX-7R hand held radio you could borrow it on the trip if need be. Again Congrats.

Thanks guys the test is easy.

Gear.
Thanks for the offer. I should have the new tires and radio installed by the end of the year. I'm leaning toward the yaesu 2800 to save a few bucks. Right now the 255/85/16s are winning in the poll.

Picked up a Yaesu 7800 today. I just need to mount the remote head unit and the install will be done. Still no call sign.

I finally figured out how to motivate myself to finish studying for my tech...I bought a 7800 as well. Hopefully that will do the trick! Did you get your call sign yet?

KI6NRF, Got in 1 week after taking the test. Good luck.

Get the programming KIT with cable for your 7800. It makes loading repeater Memories easier.

Just passed the test this morning. Thanks for posting links, info, etc. It was a big help.

Yaesu 7800 will be here on Tues.

:)

The ARRL General Manual is OK to read, but difficult to study. The unorganized question format is just crap. They could have done far better. The Gordon West book is better.

To actually study for the exam, www.hamtestonline.com is really great. Orgainzed question format, repeats on the stuff you miss, and excellent repetitive learning. Highly recommended. I studied 2 weeks and did not miss a single question on the exam.
