So it goes...
Hi all,
I'm posting this for a friend who is finishing up her South American adventures. Her group has their much loved van "Larry" up for sale, and it's (he's?) ready to go on another adventure. I can't speak to too many specifics since I haven't seen the vehicle in person, but my friend is more than happy to get any information y'all could be wondering about the car. The best part about Larry though? Inexpensive and ready for the next adventure at only $2500 for a van that has taken my friends around the continent!
Details I know:
Year: 1988
Make/Model: Chevy Astro
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Not sure about engine, but it is 2WD
Color: Flat Green
Mileage: 107,000
According to my friend, they bought it from a guy who drove it from North America to South America for an expedition, and as such he did quite a bit of maintenance to get it ready for the trip. Tires are new, brakes are newer as is the battery. I've been told it's reliable, gets great gas mileage, and is generally a ************ little van.
From the pictures I have seen, it has the following modifications:
- Gutted rear interior
- Wooden shelving on one wall
- Wooden sleeping platform
- Roof rack, not sure if the Thule carrier is included in the price
- Rear sitting platform behind vehicle
- Front mount spare tire
$2500 is the price I was given. Any questions, please direct them to Destinee at dzrugar "at" gmail.com. Van is currently located somewhere in the Peru/Chile area, though I don't know the exact location. I believe they are hoping to sell it by December.
Hopefully this will make for a great expedition rig for someone!
