Price check for a 2002 Land Cruiser with 135,000 on the clock

I researched the entire service history...odd thing is that all the 5000 mile services were done with synthetic blend, brakes were done at 100k, and other service was done, but timing belt was NOT done, so I'm thinking that timing belt + water pump, idlers, serpentine belt is going to drive the price down at least $1800.

They are asking $16900, I was planning on offering $13,000 contingent on 3rd party inspection.

It's been on their lot nearly 40 days now.

Thoughts?

13k wouldn't be bad...However, not sure your price range but you might want to try for the 2003 with 5 speed.

If there are 2003's in the $15-$16,000 range, I'd be interested, but I really don't want to go above that. MPG is not a factor in my decision, but reliability is. Are there issues with the 4-speed in the 2002 model year?

I don't think mph is suggesting there are issues with the 4-speed, but more to do with performance.

Price wise, I think it depends on your region, but I'd say that's about fair ($13-14k).

I'm also looking at another one that has an ARB front bumper, and 4 practically brand-new trail grappler M/Ts. Sticker on that one is just over 18k, which obviously is too much, but the tires/rims & ARB probably add a good $1500 to the value over baseline I would think.

2002 for 13k..nice price. 03 would be around 18...

There r no concerns with either in terms of 4 vs 5 speed...enjoy!

Wait, 2003 models came in a 5 speed??

edit-Oops, I was assuming 5 speed manual, but it's 5 speed auto. Got my hopes up for a little bit though.

Any experienced folks in the Tri-Cities area of Washington available to do a 3rd party inspection if I get them to agree on price?

I see carchex and other services out there, but I'd trust the opinion of someone with cruiser experience over a one-size-fits-all inspection.
