Protecting/waterproofing terminals and connectors in the engine compartment

Not sure if this is the right section of the forums.

Since I'll be adding more electronics to my rig, I want to also protect all the different connections and terminal points.

I've heard of using die electric grease on terminals and connectors, but I've also heard of sprays that could do similar.

Nanoprotect

CRC Seal

Corrosion Block

Anyone have experience using them or are there better products?

Wondering if these spray coatings make them a magnet for dust and dirt.

Thanks!

just use waterproof connectors. i use Amphenol connectors

Thanks for the tip. Most of my connections are buttspliced with marine heat shrink around them. However where they terminate on my relays and on my isolator, there is still exposed metal.

I couldn't find an amphenol waterproof relay but another search brought up links to waterproof relays like this.

I used standard relays and although they are high up on the firewall they are still exposed. I did, however, use waterproof terminal connectors. I think I'll swap out the relays to the waterproof versions, but till then I might use one of the sprays I listed in my OP on everything else.

EDIT: I'll probably just cover the entry point for the wires with liquid tape.

There are plastic caps available that you can top the solenoid nuts with, but they're a specialty item I haven't sourced yet. I'm leaning towards putting some liquid tape on mine in the interim. Bridged a couple of those nuts with a wrench while I was fiddling with mine, whee big fun.
