Expedition Leader
A few announcements appeared on the Provan Tiger web site recently.

Provan has added the Dodge 3500 Cummins crew cab to the list of
approved chassis. Ford and Chevy/GMC are the other choices.

Extra headroom is an option in the Tiger line. The new model adds
about 3 inches of headroom, now 6 ft 4 inches throughout the cabin. The
overall height of the vehicle is about 126 inches, depending on suspension
and tire options. (To me, the extra headroom in the cabover sleeper is
most welcome. I find the standard design a little too confining.)

The first cabin with raised roof is under construction. The web site will
have photos soon. The vehicle with the raised roof is called the Bengal Tiger.
The standard roof Tiger CX will continue to be produced.

For years, Provan's business model was selling direct to the public from
the factory. Now they have decided to make East Acres RV of Mendon, MA
their first dealer. East Acres will support customers within a 300 mile
radius, including all of New England, New York, New Jersey, and almost
all of Pennsylvania. Provan will continue to handle sales to Canada.

The website gallery now has photos of Tigers with standard cab, extended cab
and crew cab configurations. Included is one crew cab with rear
seats removed. This adds lots of storage space, or it might be used as
a generous space for a couple of large canine traveling companions.

The Tiger cabin may now be ordered with a NovaKool DC refrigerator.
Previously, Tigers came with RV refrigerators that use propane for cooling.
The cooktop in the cabin is still propane powered.

The Tiger web site is http://www.tigermotorhomes.com

Incidentally, loading the Tiger pricing page generates warnings from the Google
Safe Browsing service. Don't go there if you're using a Windows PC. Pricing
starts around $90,000 for a Tiger with standard equipment on an extended
cab chassis. You can easily take the price $20,000 higher by selecting
options.
