So the yj is the only model from the MB to the JK* that has a non mechanical front axle engagement?

*Traditional tub type jeeps. No wagons, trucks or parts.

So I should take it out? Seems a shame since it's been working perfectly.

Just being snarky. I've been running a Trutrac for awhile now in a sleeved and gusseted dirty 30. It's my DD and it gets wheeled hard. The only time I know it's there is when I need it. Otherwise, it's invisible.

For some reason when I read that I thought of a full Detroit locker, I have a Aussie in the front 30HP in my TJ and never feel it except when I need it like you said. However if you need 4wd on the street like in snow and ice, you'll most definitely want an open diff up front, or a selectable locker.

Yes, the truetrac is a limited slip. I use 4wd daily on the streets from about October to May. So no hard lockers in the front for me.
