I know there are a BUNCH of you running Old Man Emu coils out there, and I've been looking very heavily into picking up a set to run on the back of my Pathfinder when I re-do my suspension. I want about 3.75-4.25" of total lift over stock, as this will allow me to run a 255/85R16 tire to get a full 11" of clearance under my rear diff, and not put too much stress on the drivetrain.
I was looking around at Land Cruiser coils, thinking that if there is a 3" coil for the Cruisers that it would give me the lift I need in my lighter Pathfinder. I found what would probably be the ideal coil for the application, but I need to get some measurements to be sure. If anyone happens to have the OME863s on their truck, and could measure the wire diameter to 0.001" (calipers or micrometer), outer & inner diameters to 0.01" (a good machinists or engineers scale should get you close enough) and the total number of coils (including end coils), and free length to 0.1" (even a cheap ruler can give you this, lol), it would be MUCH appreciated. :wavey:
I know this is probably asking a lot, but there seem to be some pretty brainy people on this forum, so you can understand the need for precision in these measurements. At ~$150/pair for OME LC coils, I want to be absolutely sure that these will suit my needs. I'm 99.5% sure that the diameters will not match up with the Pathfinders, however, I'm not opposed to welding on some Land Cruiser spring perches to make them work if they're perfect.
Thanks in advance.
