Recently bought a WifI ranger everest in the hopes of getting some data on the trail for work.
I picked one up with a Cat 4 and Cat 6 modem. I have t-mobile on the Cat4, and the FreedomGo service (ATT) on the Cat 6.
Initial test was at Buck Lake on the west side of Lake Tahoe with disappointing results. The Everest had 3-4 bars of 4G LTE but was never able to connect on either modem. My phone had 1 bar, very spotty, but at least was able to do some stuff.. text messages, sent a photo, web pages, etc. The next morning I drove to the top of Ellis Peak where the Everest was finally able to connect. The fact my phone can get online with 1 bar and the Everest could not with 3-4 bars was a big bummer!
Still waiting for Starlink.
