Rear seat trunk

All right!Hello all!!!
Twenty days ago my son (just born) arrived, so i'm having two kids now(with
my daughter 3.5yrs old).
So far ,so good if it wasn't for my Tj(being my only car with NO intention of
replacing it)and it's limited storage.
Trying to find out a way to make more room for storage i tryed the following
project(hoping to get some feed back and advices).
For the next 3(at least) yrs both my kids would be using babyseats so the rear OEM seat would be useless.Went on and took it off.
The general idea would be to built a (safe)frame that i could strap the babyseats on.There is no need for foam so there would be more place under and behind it ,for storage.
First i had to be creative and find away to keep the rear door open while working...

No my rear door is not bent or twisted...my camera is playing games...
Here is a pic of the frame from behind...

Main priority is safety so this is how i sacured the frame using the factory
rear seat points...

I used black melamine(i hope this is th eright word) for the wood panels.
Black carpet will cover it later...
Here is one pic with the back panel installed

You can see that i cut a small opening so the safety belts will pass through.
They will secure the baby seat on the frame AND the frame on the tub...

Here is the trunk closed from the front...
I will have acces both from the inside of the Jeep and from behind...

Next you can see one of the two top hatches open

In the next pic you can see the one of the two seats(untidy)plased on the trunk so you can have an idea of the size...

Try a roof rack if you need more storage space?

Might have to ,for some weekends but it won;t really work for me...
You see i live on an island with strong winds blowing most of the summertime
(sometimes strong enough to effect the stability of my Jeep).
Plus that i have limited space going taller.I won't be able to drive through
the garage door opening...

Finally had some time to do some carpeting...

And make the back lid, which is half the height of the rear opening.
Ends right where the rear door starts(from up going down...)and the trunk locks and secures with the rear door locked.

OEM seat belts(if i understood your question right)and then use the independed 5 point seat belt(TUV aprooved)that the baby seat has.

I've found two nice boxes the exact right size...:wings:
They fit under the trunk and their top opens(in two)so i can have
access from both back and top)inside the cab.
