Rear tube bumer...WTD

This week I decided I had to have a rear bumper if I'm going to have the front done. This is the first design that I came up with.
I was going to add a swing spare tire mount to this one but now I think I want a different design...... :bigbossHL:

Maybe wrap the bottom tube under the sheet metal and tie back into the top tube? Kinda like the old All-Pro 4runner design.

I agree the bottom corner just doesn't flow like I want! It's a cool bumper that I will keep in the van product line, but going to do a new design that will have the spare tire mount.
Thanks for the feedback....

Gee, since you hate it so much I guess I could take it off your hands as a favor :D :D :D

We were waiting for you to come take it off our hands but you never showed up...... Now its off to Japan..... maybe next time!
Lets custom build you one.....

What gauge tube did you use? I'm about to build a plate bumper for my F150. Trying to get an idea of gauge (plate and substrate) versus the weight factor...
.
Nice TIG welds, BTW. Good job!

Thanks, that bumper is all mig welded but we can tig them if anyone wants.....
I would do 11ga for the main bumper with .250 on the main frame mounts..... Its going to be heavy... Our cali special bumper weighs in at just about 80 lbs.

earlier in the thread you mentioned doing a rear bumper with a tire carrier. is that still a possibility??

We do a couple different style tire carriers. All of them use the large bearing to support the weight of the tire and other stuff that you may want to add to the swing. Of course we can custom build you whatever you need for yours, but here is a pic of one tire swing with a add on option.
