Removing interior body metal

I noticed that in a build thread that Sportsmobile removes some of the interior stamped structural support to gain a few extra inches in places.

Has anyone done this in a home build? Any thoughts about what to look out for?

The factories used to delete wall ribs to put windows in. The conversion companies cut them out. Sportsmobile cut the hole in the roof eliminating a bunch there too. No worries here.
