Repairing Plastic Fairings ??

Hi,

My '88 NX650 has a cracked mounting tab on the back of the front fairing which casuses a bit of a rattle and the fairing to not be 100% secure.

How can I tell what type of plastic the fairings are made of? ABS, PVC, Vinyl?

Once I determine the material how can I fix it? Gluing, Epoxy, Welding?

Thanks
Brian

Try superglue and baking soda...really.

I read about it years ago and we fixed my friends fairing with it. He crashed and broke one of the mounting posts off. We dribbled superglue on it and then sprinkled baking soda on the glue. It has a chemical reaction that makes it very strong. We repeated the process a few times until we built up a small "weld".

Sounds like your situation is similar...mounting tab broken off. Give it a shot...it's easy and cheap!
