requesting help from AT owners

We did not get the awning and had planned on adding it later. On the Hurricane Lake trip I got to see the Horizon and Chaser AT awning set up and honestly I now do not plan on getting one. For us it just is not very practical. Yes it is well built and deploys quickly but the usable space under them is very, very limited. I really am happy using our 10'x10' EZ Up Awning. It provides lots of shelter from the rain and sun. When the rain comes down it does a good job protecting the kitchen area and the eating area and even more if we use the side walls. The set up time with two people is just minutes and it stores on the tongue between the water tank and the nose box. You just need to find what works for you. The beauty of the AT options is that you can always add them later if you can't make up your mind now or want to try something else first.

The hardest part about the whole deal will be waiting for it once you've made the decision to get it.

That will actually be the easy part. I am deployed in Iraq and will not be getting home until Sept, so when I get back it ought to be waiting on me:) Now, That's what I call a coming home present. At this point I am just waiting for money to hit the bank before dropping the deposit to start the build:victory:

Thanks to everyone for giving me loads of valuable info and making this process fun. My wife is even excited about it, (the prospect of not sleeping on the ground anymore) and I am sure my daughter will think I am a hero the first time she climbs that ladder into the tent, so I couldn't ask for more than that. I will keep you posted.

Glad to hear the wait will be easier. And, you're right, that does sound like a very nice coming home present. Nice choice.

BTW, thanks for your service and dedication.

Thanks for the support Scott.

Good news.............the order is official and AT will hopefully be starting the build soon. Martyn has promised me pictures "it'll be like you are here building it with us", he says.

What a great company and awesome community, I am glad I found it as I was in the market for a camper. Will start a new thread to keep you posted on the progress.
