Rescue Green JK Expo Build

I have been on the forum now for a little while and figured I would start a post of my rig and future plans.

2008 Rubicon Unlimited Automatic. This is Jeep number 5 or so I believe? I have done a lot of rock crawling stuff in the past but as I get older I am becoming less interested in see what kind of crazy stuff I can drive over and its becoming more about just getting out in the wilderness so I am going towards more of an expo build for exploring and camping while still being able to get into the rocks on a more mild level.

Right now the Jeep has the following mods:

Teraflex 2.5 inch budget boost lift
Fox 2.0 Shocks
Synergy Suspension Drag Link
5.13 Yukon Gears
35inch Goodyear MTRs on Level 8 Tracker alloy wheels
CB Radio with license plate mount antenna
B&M Trans Cooler
Ipad mount with Bluetooth GPS Receiver for Navigation
Ursa Minor J30 Top
Tera Flex Sleeves and Gussets on the front end.
VIAIR 400H Compressor with under hood mount.

Short term plans are to build a storage system in the rear and do the rear bumper water tank mod. The plan is for the shelves to be in leaving the rear seat in place. I think this makes it easier to get into the J30 top and I need to have a child seat back there 80% of the time. I am going to integrate into the shelves a 12v port and 2 USB Ports for rear power. Also a slide for a cooler under the shelf.

The rear bumper will have the few holes in it plugged up and will be plumbed with an RV water pump for on board water for showering/dishes. I don't think I would drink out of a the rear bumper.

Hope to have all this done in the next couple weeks

Long Term:

At some point I plan on replacing the front fender flairs, I trimmed them and really like the look however they are useless now as water and mud completely covers the side of the Jeep instantly in the winter.

More than likely OEM HD 2.25 springs factory springs are starting to sag.

Different Tires, I ran the older model MTR on my TJ I used to own. I really liked these tires. The new MTRs I have now are great on the rocks but are horrible on road and absolutely horrible on slick roads. I plan on going to something less a aggressive, possibly the Cooper ST Maxx. Still waiting to see if BFG releases a new version of the All Terrain. Either way my MTR's have 90% of the tread left so it will be a while before I worry about tires.

ARB Fridge at some point, just can't bring my self to spending the $$ especially since I just got the J30 top.

I will post pictures of the storage build next week.

Looks great! I'd love a 4 door with the J30 top. I started to do the rear bumper tank conversion but have yet to buy the pump I need. I did find what I think is a perfect fill cap though. I bought a 2" PVC "knock-out cap" for a couple of dollars and drilled a 2" hole in the top of the bumper wing on the passenger side. I'll see if I can dig up a picture but it makes a nice tight flush fit.

I searched hi and low to figure out how to add a fill point with a cap that would look good on the bumper for water. This is what I came up with, a fuel neck and cap from a Yamaha wave runner I did this randomly searching on google. This one is spendy but I think I got one for about 15 bucks shipped and it's black (most are white)

They use several screws from the top to mount.

Getting Started!

250lbs fully extendable door slides, found them for 40 bucks, I will see how they work for just supporting the cooler they seem stout.

Almost done

I used duplicolor bed liner for the paint, and I am not to happy with it. Its pretty soft I can scratch it with my finger nail. Then I found out the make two types and I should have actually gotten the cheaper stuff.

It fits very snug in the back of the Jeep the factory sub is in so I have gap in the back and I plan on using that space to mount a jerry can.

There is just enough room to slide the totes in and out easily between the shelf and roll bar.

My Shurflow water pump, self priming, you can run it dry, automatically turns off when it is up to pressure. This pump is a lot bigger than I thought, and 55psi/3gpm is probably over kill for just showering/dishes, but I really just wanted the self priming and ability to run it till the tank is dry.

I am still not sure where I am going to mount the pump, others have just done it under the Jeep, I am thinking the cubby space in the trunk since I don't really have access to it now anyways and it fits nice, also there is a drain hole in there so can run my plumbing with out creating a new hole. However the muffler is right under there so I am worried about melting my tubing, there is a heat shield but the tubing would be sandwiched between the Jeep tub and heat shielding. I may just mount it under the rear seat, should be drain holes in that area as well. (Trying not to drill new large holes in the Jeep) Any thoughts?
