Risers to lift Awning

Has anyone figured out a good riser system to mount to t-slot cross bars that could raise an awning by a foot or so?

I'm in the process of finding a mounting solution for my RTT that keeps it behind the cab of my F150, low enough for me to lift my 3 year olds in and out if necessary, but any rack or crossbars that low would make an awning pretty useless.

I'd love to find something like what Patriot uses on their trailers. (See 4:05 of this video - )

Patriot's version is patented so it's telescoping or folding... Of course, you can build your own version if you're not selling them.
