After lurking for a while, I have decided to copy over my build thread and try to become more active on the boards. I am a mod over on XterraNation and have built a small wealth of knowledge being on that board as well as Clubxterra.org and XOC.

Thank being said, here is Roxanne, my DD and weekend wheeler.

Roxanne is finally growing up, she still has room to grow and I plan on letting it happen as it comes. I am currently a college student and have been getting my upgrades one hand-me-down at a time, so it is a slow process, but I love Roxy and the community that surrounds the Xterra

Now that I have most of my pictures from my old computer.. I guess I can make one of these.


Well it all started off in March of 2009, with this bone stock 2004 XE

Then after adding stickers, my first mod was the Yakima LoadWarrior

I decided to test out what the X could do, and took it out to a developing residential community (still in the clearing and planning stages) and needless to say, I was never stuck, even though I went through a mud lake..)

However on the way back in, it started to get dark, and it became hard to wheel so right after that trip I bought a custom light bar and 4 Hella 500's from a member on XOC (Dead Forum)

At this point funds ran dry, being in highschool and not being able to have a job all year means funds dry up.. but I did take a cool Night shot in the snow..

Then I went through an audio fling, I bought a Kenwood DPX-503 Double DIN and put Kenwoods in the front and Pioneers in the back. Later I added 2 Kicker 12" L7's with a 2000 watt amp. After breaking somethings in my car, I dropped down to a single JL Audio 12W6V2 and a 800W Kenwood amp. I don't have any pictures of these, but both were obnoxiously loud.

Later on I started to do the freebie mods, removing step rails, mud flaps, rear sway bar, and resonator/baffles.

(This was testing out the new flex)

About 2 months after this, I bought some new tires, a set of 265/75/16 Kuhmo Road Venture AT's. I love these tires. I can take them anywhere, and they get me through everything.

The next mod was to add some storage, so I made a LOBO. I also made it so I could lay it down, as pictured in the second picture.

I have recently installed a Cobra 25 WX NW ST, CB radio and a PA horn to go with it. I have a 3 ft' Firefly antenna, with a medium duty spring and a antenna mount that is right above my driver side taillight.

At some point here I painted the plastics and tinted my taillights.. I am not sure where that goes in here, so I will just insert it here.

The most two recent mods are the Fink Wink Mirror Mod, and I made a custom gear shifter-knob out of a surplus grenade.

This is the most recent off-road trip. I went on a trail with my dad up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, heading out to Shining Rock.

Which I know is simple. But that is what I wanted.

Then I took out the plasti dip and had a little bit of fun, okay all I did was paint the gas hatch.. which everyone has done, but I like it. After the plasti dip dried, I took her out for a little play time in the play ground just behind my neighborhood

This is what I was flexing in.. It was a hole, about 2-2.5 ft deep. Front tires never left the ground and neither did the back. Over all I am impressed with the flex that the PML gave me. I plan on getting new shocks with the next paycheck (girlfriend kinda took over the last one..) and I should gain more flex with that, as that is my limiting factor in the back. I want to find more ways to flex up front, I know it isn't much, but I want MOAR. haha here is the hole I was playing in.

Update of this weekend. I came home for fall break and had a bunch of fun modding the truck

Then I picked up some wheels off of CL

And I tried to put them on. This is what happens when you dont chock your wheels, and you lift it.. the truck leans forward.. and destroys your jack..

Anyway, this is what they will look like. I can't wait for them, including when I wrap them in some tires.

Hood Riser mod

For those who wanted to see the hood risers. This is what they look like.

So the headliner was sagging and before I headed out to St. Louis I pulled the headliner out and scraped the foam off with a plastic spoon, yes a plastic spoon.. It was the best thing, I tried all sorts of tools, but the spoon was the best.

Anyway I got it to here before I left

And I decided to move my CB to the ceiling, to get it out of the way and I wanted to be like Mirage.. (kinda). I knew that it would be "heavy" so I added a cheap piece of angled aluminum to the other side of the headliner so I drilled holes in all three piece and ran 1/2" length bolts through and secure the bracket to the angle aluminum

I ran the coax up the B pillar, and across the middle to behind the mirror.

Where I mounted the CB, it stuck down too much in my mirror, so I repulled the headliner and moved it up to right behind the net.

So here it is moved up

I am trying to thing what to do with the wires, might just come up with some simple cover for them.. but they are hard to see unless you are REALLY looking for them.

I like it and though it reeks of paint I think that it is nice. Riding around without the headliner was too loud for this guy. I thought I would like the rugged torn apart look, but I couldn't get into it.

And here is the final product. I couldn't mount it lower because of where the brace on the inside was but it is surprisingly solid.

After seeing Doodle do this I had to play copy cat.

Kenda Klever MTs, in the 285/75/16 flavor

Just an update post NXM, I picked up a few things and for those who are wondering about the Kenda Klevers, I ran almost every trail for NXM in 2wd and never got stuck, these tires are amazing for the price. Thoroughly impressed with them.

Here are a few things I picked up,

Hitch from JackStilts

These White Knuckle sliders came off of a totaled X, and were originally slotted to go to Tim, however he sold his Xterra and I was selected to take his place and receive them. My old sliders went to Jason (Edodrian)

These skids came off of Jason's (Edodrian) rig. They were also on Dana's (powerguy37) rig before him.. Both of those truck now have a solid axle, so I am hoping that the Solid Axle fair visits me at some point, its the luck of the skids. I am going to leave them this color in order to preserve the heritage and plus this green is just ************.

Finally I tried to fit some 49x21 tires under the truck, I might have to do a little trimming..

The ride home was a convoy with the NOAS crew, these guys are awesome and I plan on wheeling with them and they should be posting up here soon on our board, we can start to get some connections going and maybe get some more clubs to run together

I put the sliders on because they were taking up too much room in the house, I also put them on without repainting them because I don't have the time or the place to do so.

I don't think they were made for a body lift, and I am okay with where they sit. Also showing a little NXM love.

This was an attempted mod day on my truck, but we ended up working on Casey's truck and posing for photos.. Got to love the truck whoring.

This was the surprise mod I have been waiting to do for quite some time.. Full skids. (well minus gas skid)

So I put my truck in the ditch.. and somehow didn't ******** my pantaloons.

^Honestly, for as bad as this looks, when I was easing into this (yes, I drove into this spot, I didn't slide into it. If I slid into this I would have rolled over.. for sure) I felt comfortable driving it, and I knew I wasn't going to push it until I rolled over.

And then Luke followed..
