After my spring break fly fishing trip to WNC, I decided I needed to find a better sleeping/storage solution for my trips. I have a Jeep XJ which is less than ideal for someone 5’10” to sleep in the back of with gear so I’ve decided to take the plunge and build a trailer. I’m home from college for the summer so I’ve got time to work after internship hours. My grandpa and some friends will be helping me but I’m doing most of the work myself.
I’m using Drifter Trailers as my inspiration. They’re simple, yet functional and that’s what I want mine to be. I’ve spent plenty of nights ski bumming in the back of my Jeep with no tv and other bs like that that these off road trailers come with.
All the trailer will consist of is:
Full sized bed
Camp shower/water source
Off road tires - same as my Jeep
Led lighting on the interior
Window
Roof vent/fan
Rear storage/galley
