Roof Sealers?

I just recently picked up a 1998 Sun-Lite Eagle WT. It seems to be in good shape for its age. The previous owner pointed out a spot on the roof where there was a very shallow dent and repair, he said it was from a tree branch. He had applied a coating to the area. The depression is about 5 - 6 inches in diameter and maybe 3/8" deep in the center, the patching compound in spreed out in about a 12" diameter circle centered over the depression.

The entire roof has a pebble like texture to it and looks like it has been painted with something.

I have seen some liquid rubber type products for RV roofs, has anyone used these? Is there a preferred product or ones to stay away from?

Lots of useful info here! I am hopping for some recommendations.

Thanks

Hi there! I have used Blackjack Ultraroof. It's a paint-on product that I have found works well for me overall. You do have to re-coat once in a while. I also suggest eternabond, which comes as sort of a duct tape like product that you could use to seal the edges. You can take a look at my thread in my signature, as it details my roof waterproofing. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I read through your Phoenix-Refurb! Lots of useful information, really like the awning!

After looking at my roof some more I am considering using a roll on liquid to cover the entire roof. Anyone use any of these? Not sure if I can mention any brand names here but they seem to run about 50 - 60 dollars a gallon. Iron Coat, Liquid Roof, and others, have even considered a DIY bedliner product.

Anyone know of a source of information on these and/or other roof products?

I've used these on a trailer house, and the "cool roof" style product worked fine. No more leaks and the cracks in the sprayed-on foam layer covered up nicely.

If you follow the lead of those in the pop up trailer crowd, Grizzly Grip is favored by many. I used Henrys Roof Seal on my FWC and so far it has worked ok but goes on more like paint and less like a coating. Like Subterran I use Eternabond on the seams and it works very well.

Good Luck...
