Roof top tent $800 good deal?

I found this on CL looking for something else. I've wanted one for a while and the wife finally approved the funds.

Is it a good deal. Haven't heard any reviews of the new series.

I have always heard that Mombassa & Camping Lab are close...and you can get a new in box Camping Lab for that price...
I would check the new price of Mombassa's and see if the seller will come down.

The Camping Lab tent we used on the Continental Divide Expedition did great and is still going strong.

If it comes with the changing room then yes, I'd say $800 is fair.

Comes with changing room. Says new in box but he has pics of it on his 4 runner? Makes me wonder if he's a dealer.

If it's new in box, how did it get on his roof? I've seen that picture before as well so he may have just plucked it of the web to help visualize it....either way good luck.

I believe that same tent has been listed for several months. I remember seeing the exact add with the 4Runner last year.

That is the exact tent I have. I purchased it for $830 shipped from a distributor. It has been a good tent so far. The only thing that is bad about it is the cover, which rips easily. I snagged mine on the ladder when I was putting the tent away. I called the main distributor in Texas and they sent me the new "brown" cover free of charge. The brown cover is made of a thicker material. If it is new in the box, $800 is a good deal.

Check you PM over on COTTORA, I know a guy here locally that's fixing to stick a Camping Lab with the changing room up on Craigslist for $500 never been used.
