RTT Lift

So here is one of my winter projects. It is an RTT lift that is basically push button operation. The system incorporates gas struts and 12v linear actuators. The gas struts do the lifting and the linear acuators regulate speed, lock it into the raised position, and lower it back down. Here is a video showing it operating. There is about 150 lbs sitting on the lift in the video. This system will get attached to the lid of my m416 trailer and allow me to gain enough height to use my annex. The system provides close to 2 ft of lift and compresses down to about 5.5".

Pretty slick. Does it need some lateral support to keep it from swaying side to side?

There are two lateral braces that link the interior "floating" brackets from side to side and small pockets that match the radius of the control arms in all the brackets. These limit the control arm rotation to the vertical position when raised. The actuators have 1600 lbs of static force each, so they will hold everything in position and prevent the platform from bouncing. It's vey solid and there is no movement when in the raised position.

Holy crap Travis!
You weren't kidding about those linear actuators!

Nicely done!
(BTW got my first hinge built out of metal today for my RTT lift! Going to be exactly 24"!)

Thanks again for your help

No problem. Hope the build goes well. Let me know if I can help.

Thats pretty awesome! How much were the linear actuators? Can you demonstrate the lateral stability? Not tyring to be a naysayer...it looks totally sweet and well designed. Got any close ups of the framework...unless you are planning to produce them...and dont want to share. I would like to do something like this and have been thinking about the best means to raise and lower the frame. Your solution is really nice.

Cant wait to see it all incorporated into the lid and tent mounted. Congrats!

So frekin cool!!!!!

But I have a question, how with the mechanical units hold up to trail dust and the like?? Do you have a way to cover them when your out on and about??

They seem to be sealed pretty well. I'll have to see how they hold up this season.
