RV8 valve stem seals

Hey all,

I am getting ready to rebuild the cylinder heads on the 92 Range Rover, which has the earlier valve stem seals which are basically a rubber washer. I was wondering if I could use the later type seals, which look like this:

They seem like the would do a better job of sealing.

I believe the valve guides have to be machined for 92 and earlier heads to use those cup style seals.
