I use my pop up mostly in the winter and always hope for snow to ski on. Anyone know how much weight these things can really handle while up? I'm looking at 90 square feet of snow load. It would certainly be a painful death to be in the cabover bed when it collapsed from snow weight.
Does anyone deploy bracing that might prevent terminal collapse under big snow?
Also what maintenance can be done on the lifter tracks and gears? Silicone spray lube? I do keep an extra crank handle in case it strip out.
There is a good build up of rust or gear dust in the bottom of the track.
Otherwise the home made roof is holding up great. The grizzly grip paint on is doing fine except for some cracks at some of the joints in the fascia that must not have been tight enough.
