Sankey "widetrack" camping trailer

New to this brilliant site, and thought I would post a couple of pics of my Sankey trailer I have just purchased.
Needs a bit of welding around the arches and a rub down and paint.
For now it will be a bit of a tidy up, gonna make a lid for it and that will be it for a while.
In the future it will have a total rebuild, but for now this is it!

Nice disk braked Sankey... I've got one just like it that I'm trying to decide how to modify or not for camping trips. I leaning towards trying to keep the Zodiac, motor, and most camping gear in the trailer and then tow with which ever truck is best suited to the trip in question at the time. Be that the 90, the RRC, or the Suburban.

Thanks, it is a beast of a trailer! Starting to sand it down tonight after work, and the weekend (try)build a lid for it. Also use ply to line and divide up the interior, then I can fit the battery and some 12v sockets to start with.

I'm not sure if I like the idea of making the frame longer. It has some advantages but if used off road I think the shorter original frame will flow the tow rig better, I could be wrong though.

Skids, take a look at wiggs Sankey trailer build on Disco3.co.uk site, its awsome.

You know they don't let Paj owners look at a Land Rover site! lol Have seen it, it's a quality build, looks like i have to learn how to weld:yikes:

Well decided to line the inside of the trailer with 6mm ply, not bad for my first attempt at this sort of thing. Also built the frame for the lid from 3x2, just waiting for the chequer plate to arrive. Will post update pictures tomorrow.
