A friend just gave me the frame from an old Bee-Line travel trailer.
Frame looks pretty good for age and considering it's been sitting outside for 40+ years.
Not including the bumper on the rear or the tongue, it measures:
6' 8-1/2" x 8' 8-1/2"
What I'd like to do is build it enough to sleep two adults and carry two Suzuki DR350 dual-sport motorcycles. Not sure if a teardrop-ish configuration is what I'm after or if something else is in-store for us.
The square axle is a drop-type (at least I think that's what it's called) and the hubs are 4-bolt. I'll take things apart and if the hubs/spindles look good enough I'll probably just replace the bearings and keep the current configuration. If things aren't so good, then I think I'd like to use a straight axle for a little more clearance, and possibly 5-bolt hubs so I can mount more adventure-friendly wheels.
This thing is light, with leaf springs.
I'll post some pics in a bit after they've uploaded to smugmug, so you all can see what I've got and be able to make informed suggestions.
