Searching For A Builder-Wedge style topper OBS Bronco

I’ve been on the hunt for a company willing to build me a wedge style top for my 96’ Bronco. All the “big” companies I’ve reached out to won’t even entertain the idea.

FWC and Ovrland use to make these (full pop top) but are impossible to find used. Ovrland being one of the companies I’ve reached out to also refused the project.

The latest was Topo toppers who initially seemed excited about the idea. Find out today which is two months later that they are too busy to consider a project of that magnitude right now.

If anyone knows of a company willing to take on a project like this please let me know. Not looking for a build out, just a light weight aluminum shell with a wedge style pop top like GFC, topo toppers, super pacific etc…. Like the ten thousand other brands putting out the same exact thing.

For reference, my rig is a 4bt swapped 96 Bronco with super60/10.5 solid axle swap

Sort of got a bite from Hardsider.

After some digging on here, damnnn they are shady. Unfortunate since they seem very interested.

The search goes on, who’s interested??

Any chance you could buy a production one for like a Jeep Gladiator or Toyota with a short stub bed, then just have someone make an aluminum filler shroud? Would open up your choices, then only a small attachment shroud would need to be made to bridge the gap.

The bed rails on the bronco are significantly wider. I’ve considered this but it will never sit flush with the rails and cab. From the measurements I’ve gathered at this point I think starting from scratch may be the easiest way.

I’m not in a rush but if I keep striking out I’ll most likely do something like this. Either way I’ll keep the thread updated and probably start a separate build thread when the project is underway.

Took a drive over to Mainline Overland here on the east coast. After some chatting with the crew and some base measurements, we are going to make a Go Fast Camper V2 Pro work on the bronco!!

Pretty stoked as this may be the only one in existence!! Awesome crew over there, they seemed as excited about it as I was.

Looks like they will take delivery of the top January-ish. In the meantime I’ll start a simple buildout. I’ll keep this thread updated for those that are interested.

Just an fyi my buddy recently bought one and has been traveling in his tundra. He gave me an update he said the condensation is awful and will be selling his and replacing it when he is done with his trip. I could not help him out in time.

That’s an issue with most uninsulated truck bed toppers not just GFC. Really any camper/tent/shelter/house for that matter.

Proper insulation and ventilation is key to no condensation. Especially the ceiling/roof since that’s where condensation will collect and run down the wedge. I’ll be fully insulating and installing a vent fan along with having the full pass through since it’s a bronco as opposed to an enclosed metal truck bed. Shouldn’t be an issue. I appreciate the heads up, I have heard that with the early v2 models.

GFC is building custom one off stuff lately, they did something for a Defender 130 and a 1stgen 4runner, they'd probably be interested.

I actually just got off the phone with them about that. Trying to get a little 3 way build action between myself mainline and Gfc.

It’s funny, a couple hours after dropping the coin on a v2 pro I see that 4Runner video. Then at the end he mentions obs broncos.
