Seeking 1–2 Short-Form Editors + Social Media Collaborators for Global Overland Expedition

Hey everyone,

My wife and I are in the early stages of a multi-year overland expedition that will span multiple continents, and we’re looking for one or two people to join us on the content side — primarily short-form editing + social media strategy/management — with the goal of eventually turning this into a full-time career of adventuring, teaching, and exploring together.

And to be clear upfront: we’re not experts either.
We’re passionate, we’re learning as we go, and we’re dreaming big.

Who We Are​

We’re building out a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser for a long-term overland journey and documenting the entire process under our brand Journey Overland Expedition / joe4x4. Our content will focus on:

• Real-world overland travel (trip planning, remote travel, problem-solving)
• Education (gear choices, vehicle setup, logistics, budget, safety)
• Storytelling: the people we meet, the places we camp, the challenges that shape the journey

What We’re Looking For​

We’d like to find 1–2 collaborators who can take ownership of:

• Editing short-form vertical video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
• Helping shape content strategy + posting cadence across IG, TikTok, YouTube, and possibly FB
• Repurposing long-form content into short-form highlights and teasers
• Tracking basic analytics and helping refine what resonates
• Coordinating with our long-form videographer

Required Experience​

• Portfolio of short-form edits (Reels/TikToks/Shorts)
• Comfortable working with RAW footage (mirrorless cameras, drones, GoPros)
• Proficient in at least one editing platform (Premiere, FCPX, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)
• Experience helping run social channels
• Clear, reliable communication — especially remotely

Strong Preferences​

• Genuine passion for off-roading, overlanding, or outdoor adventure
• Interest in joining us in person on various legs of the expedition
• Comfort working and filming in remote locations, tents, overland rigs, etc.
• Desire to be part of something bigger than just a gig

What This Looks Like at First​

• Starts as a paid part-time / freelance collaboration, fully remote
• Possible partnership or equity opportunities depending on fit
• If it’s right for everyone, this can grow into a full-time role as we expand content, sponsorships, courses, digital products, etc.
• Real opportunities to travel and film on-location (U.S., South America, Africa, Australia — often via local overland rentals)
