First off, I hope everyone on the forum in and around Colorado has survived the epic flooding.
I started planning a 20th anniversary trip with my wife while I was laid up with some injuries (Thread: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/89189-May-2013-Delaware-to-the-4-Corners)
We just got back and I'll be updating this thread and uploading pictures as we settle back in.
The Trip:
We left September 1st from Wilmington DE and started heading out to Chaco Canyon. It took us 3 long long days of driving to get there.
We went to :
Chaco Canyon
Grand Canyon North Rim (And Point Sublime)
Tuweep Point ( and the Namaweep Petroglyphs)
Gooseneck state park, Utah (Stayed for 2 days because of the rain)
Tuba City
Valley of the Gods
Butler Wash Road
Arches National Park
The epic rain had flooded out a lot of roads and back country areas, so we had to go to some of the touristy areas
And then back home....
A total of 5,400 miles in 15 days....
We found out that after 20 years, we still enjoy each other's company!
The Vehicle
I've been slowly working on a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport to get it expedition ready:
From this in November of 2011:

To this today:

The specs:
2.5" AEV Lift
OR Fab rear tire carrier with Jerry Cans
34" Nitto Terra Grappler's
Smitybuilt MOD bumper and KC driving lights
Quadratec Winch
A Kenwood T-V-71 Ham 2M/70CM rig
I was very happy with the Jeep's performance. The only thing I plan on changing down the road are the tires. The Terra's got me where I wanted to go, but I'm going to look for something a bit lighter with more traction and mud performance.
That's it for now, I'll be back with a day by day blow of the trip and photo's.
